You pay us, we send you letters. You don't share our letters all over the internet, we don't spam you. We both act like reasonable adults. That's pretty much it.

But lawyers say we need more words, so here they are:

The Legal Version

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of The Lonely Chapter website (lonelychapterletters.com) and the purchase of our letter series. By using our website or purchasing our letters, you agree to these terms.

What We Provide

Our Service:

  • • Currently offering "Letters for New Fathers" (12 letters over 6 months)
  • • Additional letter series may be added in the future

  • • To ship letters approximately every two weeks
  • • To respond to customer service inquiries
  • • To protect your personal information (see our Privacy Policy)

What We Don't Promise:

  • • That our letters will solve all your problems
  • • That you'll feel instantly better after reading them
  • • Specific delivery dates (mail can be unpredictable)
  • • That our advice will work for everyone
Ordering and Payment

How Ordering Works:

  • • One-time payment of $89 for complete 12-letter series
  • • Payment processed securely through Stripe
  • • Letters ship to address provided during checkout
  • • First letter typically ships within 3-5 business days

Payment Terms:

  • • All sales are final once letters begin shipping
  • • Prices are subject to change for future orders
  • • We accept major credit cards through Stripe
  • • International orders may have additional shipping costs

Gift Orders:

  • • You can purchase letters for someone else
  • • Gift recipient information is kept private
  • • No refunds once shipping begins, even if recipient doesn't want letters
Shipping and Delivery

Our Shipping Policy:

  • • Letters ship via USPS to addresses within the United States
  • • International shipping available (additional costs apply)
  • • We're not responsible for mail delays, lost mail, or incorrect addresses you provide
  • • Address changes must be requested via email before next letter ships

Delivery Timeline:

  • • Letters ship approximately every two weeks
  • • Actual delivery depends on postal service
  • • Complete series takes about 6 months to deliver
Refunds and Cancellations

Our Refund Policy:

  • • Full refund available if you cancel before first letter ships
  • • No refunds once letters begin shipping (they're already printed and on their way)
  • • We may make exceptions for extraordinary circumstances (contact us)
  • • Processing time for approved refunds: 5-10 business days

Why This Policy:

  • • Letters are custom printed and personalized
  • • Shipping costs are incurred immediately
  • • This keeps our prices low for everyone
Intellectual Property

What Belongs to Us:

  • • All letter content and website content
  • • The Lonely Chapter name and branding
  • • Original writing and creative works

What You Can Do:

  • • Read your letters (obviously)
  • • Keep them forever
  • • Share quotes or excerpts for personal discussion
  • • Give your physical letters to someone else

What You Can't Do:

  • • Reproduce entire letters online or in print
  • • Sell or distribute our content
  • • Create derivative works based on our letters
  • • Use our content for commercial purposes

Fair Use: We're reasonable about fair use. Sharing a meaningful quote with a friend or discussing our content online is fine. Posting entire letters on social media is not.

User Conduct

What We Expect:

  • • Be respectful in all communications
  • • Provide accurate information during ordering
  • • Don't use our service for anything illegal
  • • Don't try to hack or abuse our website

What We Don't Tolerate:

  • • Harassment of our team or other customers
  • • Attempting to circumvent our systems
  • • Using our service to harm others
  • • Fraudulent orders or chargebacks

Changes to These Terms

Termination
